Work on your core. Do the following:
- Sit ups & modified sit ups
- High knee jumps
Perfect the technique. Practice the following:
- A forward kick followed by a forward knee
- A jab-straight-crossing elbow
- An uppercut followed by a downward thrusting elbow
- An upper elbow cut

Punches and kicks, relatively speaking, can be seen a mile away. On the other hand, you’ll almost always never see an elbow or a knee. With that said, these are the preferred tools you will use as a Muay Thai student
Understand how a swing works and you’ll understand how just as effective an elbow or a knee is compared to a punch or a kick.
Visualize the distance a swing travels as it makes an arc. Notice how quicker its gets to complete the arc as the swing’s chain gets shorter.
If you understand this principle, then you get the idea why a fast elbow, or a knee, to the opponent is just as potent as throwing a punch, or a kick, is for you.
